On November 4, 2004 Nelson contacted America World Adoption Association (AWAA) to set up a meeting for us to begin the adopton process of our daughter. On Friday, March 18th, AWAA sent our dossier to the China Center of Adoption Affairs (CCAA). Our paperwork was officially logged into the CCAA (LID) on April 11, 2005. After only eight months, on December 8, 2005 we received the referral call from AWAA letting us know that our daughter was waiting for us in the Jiangxi Province of China. Our daughter Sophia Janai was born on November 4, 2004 (same day Nelson contacted AWAA to begin the adoption process)!! God is so great!

Sophia weighed approx. 6 pounds at birth and was approx. 18 inches tall.
